Extracurricular Activities

The school offers a minimum of 10 extracurricular activities per month. The activities taking place in the school premises are free of charge (history of Florence, Italian music, Italian movies, international dinners, lectures on different topics of the Italian culture, like history, geography, politics, society, traditions, television and special events). All other activities are to be paid for (visits to museums, trips to neighbouring cities, dinners in typical restaurants, wine tasting, concerts and shows). All activities take place after 4:00 PM and at weekends.

Use of school premises

Students can use rooms not being used for class purposes from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM to study, read, watch movies etc.

Internet point

A computer is available for students to use the Internet and check e-mails.

Two hours' individual lessons for free

The school offers students who participates in a course for more than tree months two hours of free one-to-one lesson.

Language assistance

Once a week a teacher will be available to students for one hour in the afternoon, to answer queries and solve doubts concerning grammar and vocabulary. This is a free service.

Study Visa

Students from countries which are not members of the EU and who intend to stay longer than three months, need a study visa issued by the Italian embassy in their own country. To obtain the study visa they need the certification of enrolment to our school as well as other documents requested by the embassy. The necessary documentation is sent to those who have enrolled as soon as the school receives the amount due as deposit. In any case we advice students to enquire about bureaucratic procedures at their embassies before they make reservations and come to Italy, as laws and regulations vary considerably from country to country.

Health insurance

Students from non-EU countries are requested to take out a private health insurance for six months or one year. We advice our students to enquire about it at their Italian embassies. European students can apply to their private or public health insurance for the E 111 form, which entitles them to get free medical assistance by the Italian National Health Service.

Scholarships

Every year, the Istituto Il David makes a limited number of scholarships available to Italian Language and Culture Institutes based in a number of cities throughout the world and to some international universities. Applications are to be sent directly to the Italian Language and Culture Institute or to the university.
